This Privacy Policy explains how MemoryAI Voice ("the App") handles information. By using the App, you agree to this policy.

We do not sell your personal information.

1. What the App does

MemoryAI Voice records or imports audio, transcribes it, and turns it into searchable notes, tasks, and answers on your Apple devices. Notes can stay on this device or sync through your iCloud.

2. Audio and transcription (default)

By default the App uses Cloud Whisper through our backend at api.memoryaiapp.com.

• Audio is sent to transcribe, then deleted. We do not keep recordings after transcription finishes.
• The request may be processed by speech providers we use as processors (currently OpenAI and, when configured, Groq). They receive audio only to return text, under their terms.
• Speaker labels use the same cloud pass unless you turn on on-device speaker split in Settings.
• You can switch to on-device transcription in Settings. In that mode audio is not uploaded for speech-to-text.

Apple Speech Recognition, if you allow it, is used for live captions on this device. That is separate from Cloud Whisper, which is the default for the saved note.

3. Notes, iCloud, and on-device AI

• Transcripts, summaries, tasks, and chat with your notes are stored on your device.
• If you choose Synced privacy mode, notes and related files use your iCloud container (iCloud.com.memoryaiapp.memoai). Apple provides iCloud. We do not operate that storage.
• Analysis and Ask My Memory run on your device (including Apple Intelligence / Foundation Models when available).
• Optional rewrite of a transcript may send the text (not the original audio file) to our backend so a language model can rewrite it. We do not use that text for advertising.

4. Account and identifiers

If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive an Apple user identifier and, if you share it, an email (including Hide My Email). We use this to authenticate you and to delete server-side index data if you delete your account.

Purchases are processed by Apple. We do not receive your full payment card number.

5. Permissions

• Microphone: to record voice notes.
• Speech Recognition: live captions on this device.
• Screen Recording (Mac): optional, so the App can hear meeting playback such as Zoom. No bot joins the call.
• Calendar and Reminders: only if you turn on calendar "Record?" prompts or approve creating an event or reminder.

6. Import, export, and integrations

If you paste a public media URL, our backend may download that file long enough to transcribe it, then delete it. Private chats in WhatsApp or Telegram are not crawled. You share those files yourself.

If you connect Notion, Zapier, or another webhook, you choose the destination. The App sends note content you trigger. Those services have their own policies.

When you export or share a note, you choose where it goes (Files, Mail, and so on).

7. Data we do not collect for ads or tracking

The App does not use third-party advertising SDKs and does not use your recordings or notes to track you across other companies' apps.

8. Retention and deletion

• Audio for Cloud Whisper: kept only for the transcription request, then deleted. Incomplete uploads are purged (about 15 minutes).
• Notes on device / iCloud: until you delete the note, delete your account in Settings, or delete the App.
• Server-side search index tied to Sign in with Apple: deleted when you use Delete Account & All Data or when Apple notifies us that the account was revoked.

9. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. International processing

Transcription processors may handle audio in the United States or other countries where those providers operate. Data protection laws there may differ from your country.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.

13. App Store nutrition labels (summary)

• Audio: sent to transcribe, then deleted. Not stored by MemoryAI Voice. Not used for tracking.
• User content (transcripts and notes): on device and, if you enable it, in your iCloud.
• Identifiers: Apple account ID if you sign in with Apple.
• No tracking for ads.
